Double Barrel Tree Tribal Drum

Much of the work that goes into making unique items gets missed when one views the finished product. That being said, I thought you might enjoy the journey it took to make this one of a kind drum.

When Michelangelo looked at a piece of marble, he would study it to determine what was wanting to step forward from the untamed texture into smooth life.  I can honestly say, Daithi Dubh looks at wood and what it becomes in his hands is truly a masterpiece.

Here is how it started.

Then the process of hollowing it out.

The rough sanded to smooth and brought to life with oil.

Holes drilled for lacing and the 2 tones chosen for this amazing instrument are N. American Bison and Elk.

The two tones on this unique piece are amazing and harmonious to each other.  Excellent craftsmanship Daithi!
